could have snipped it at 200 probabely ,but i don't want it ,and it actually looks a bit fake, did they reissue it?somethings to new about it maybe,to me, just a feeling,i'm so tuned into the whole skateboard thing i do trust my intuitive feelings on stuff like this, besides i already have one ,the bigger beamer 31.5 x 10(+.5?) much rarer, no stickers but i knew the guy who peeled them off.

cheap beamer even
On 1/8/2008 herbn wrote in from United States  (67.83.nnn.nnn)

just saw a dbl beamer going for under 200,well it still has acouple of hours, maybe you meant beamer as in single beamer, much rarer i think.Low number of boards made doesn't necessarily make for a valuable collectable, since re purchasing a part of your youth is one of the market drivers,so if only 50 people owned it back in the day then there's only 50 people who have that incentive. I always wanted strokers, but could never afford them, hell my parents used to keep pretty close tabs on my spending,i almost had to return my 50 dollar polished banzai because it seemed like a ridiculous amount of money to spend on a toy(to my dad) so i didn't dare try for strokers, well i made a set and then bought a set off ebay a few years ago, don't feel the need for a banzai, but i think i'd like one of the bigger skitch hitchcocks, or a big wide taperkick 36 by 9 (at least)let's see what else is collectable to me,alva with fiberglass, maybe a long maharajah,a real Sims phase 2 or 1 never available. I guess it's all about disposable income if i had millions i'd decorate my game room with old skateboards, i guess disposable income is down with 3+ dollar gas and all the stuff that goes with those economic realitys.

Megatrons

Hey Shaun,

Many (false) claim has been made as to who witnessed Mad Mark Baker skate.
He and Steve Kellner became my inspiration to work with dancers as they ripped in style and grace!

The Cage in Pig City (Brighton) was central to the time. I well recall Baker,
Steve and Twiggy testing Baker's signature deck and Megatron trucks. They
were plans for the grip tape design under way. The product (assumed) may of later been sold in perhaps Max's. The locals skate outlet in Western Road.
There are adverts with a phone number in editions of Skateboard!

Yep & riding the sweet minty soft
parking lots of Sand Hill Road...
Nice inclines for this "slalom only,
used to be good, ride slower, now it
hurts when I fall/plop" sidewalk surfer....
Although Sand Hill has rent-ta-cops... As I
work in one of the buildings, I usually
can get a pass...
Dispite my weight and age, enjoy the picture.
Its staged, am only half that nerdy......Half :---)
To all, am back to work tomorrow, vacation
is over, so I will not be hogging the site till
next December.

Lower Prices
On 12/31/2007 Vintage Man wrote in from United States  (66.245.nnn.nnn)

My 2 cents on lower prices as to vintage skateboards;
#1 reason in my opinon;
Venues like NCDSA, Ebay, especially the internet
have put sellers and collectors together.
Its not rare or impossible to find vintage product anymore...
Suppy/Demand the age old economics theory usually holds true...
There are of course lots more reasons, but lest I bore you and myself :---)
Enjoy the picture. Decks inside the garage, and family car outside garage!! Man has to have priorities! Fabulous 2008 to all....

price drop
On 12/31/2007 BARA wrote in from United States  (68.84.nnn.nnn)

that's because allot of that stuff was never as collectible as everybody thought...they made tons of those boards and allot of them were still around...that...and you saw the same ones coming up...everybody just turns stock..i saw a Bones board i sold come and go 3 times with each new owner...

It's when you get something REALLY collectible that it still pulls good cash..and i dont mean Foam Kryptonics or NATAS collectible, i mean Powel Beamer or McGill Jet collectible,.....or something like this '73 Mahogany Ick Stick. which i'm putting on the block next month...if you have something that's honestly hard to find, it'll still pull cash....

quicksilver decks
On 12/29/2007 BARA wrote in from United States  (68.84.nnn.nnn)

Vince, there a bunch of different variations of the quicksilver...the early ones all had that sims logo on top. There are ones with a rivet in the nose, there are quicktails with flat tails, there are slight variations in the bottom logo...
It still all gets down to condition. The different variations dont mean much. The heavier kg's always bring more than the light ones. They also once had a 60kg with a "beam" on the bottom. That may bring a bit more....but without pics its impossible to say....

Sims Quicksilver
On 12/27/2007 Vince wrote in from United States  (167.199.nnn.nnn)

That's right, I said a Sims Quicksilver deck. It has the Sims snake logo on top instead of the Powell. It is the 60kg. It does have some mild scuffing on the letters underneath. Anyone have any idea what it may be worth?

On 12/18/2007 vintage man wrote in from United States  (192.193.nnn.nnn)

If I were a betting man...
Those are REDS and look sweet...
The color is very even looking...
Would like to see if all 4 are same as to color..
Hard to have a color change that that equal and even.
So I am of the opinion they are Road Rider Red color Kryps...
VERY COOL.......
cheers

Megatrons
On 12/17/2007 BoBo wrote in from United States  (65.242.nnn.nnn)

Those Megatrons are worth a bit. If they are W/O grinds I'd say about 125.00. If they are ground pretty good they'll go cheap. They are Tracker ripoffs after all but still a good truck and not often seen. They come up on eBay about 6 times a year, so not all that often. I wouldn't call em Rare. That word gets misused sooooooo much on eBay. OOOOhhhhhh I have a Hobie Hotdogger with ACS430's and Hobie wheels. Super RARE!!! I see 5 a month at least.

They will sell but keep your expectations reasonable and you'll be happy.
